Dr Zain Kapasi
Gender: Male
Primary qualifications: BSc (Hons), MBChB (Glasgow 2002), MRCGP, GP Trainer
Dr Kapasi joined the Practice in 2011. He previously dabbled in various specialities including General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and A&E before finally settling in General Practice. He trained mainly in the Greater Glasgow area but has also lived and worked in the USA, New Zealand, and Australia.
He has a love of Lifestyle Medicine and enjoys seeing the benefits it brings to patients, often without the need for more medications. He also has interests in Mental Health (or “Brain Health” as he prefers to call it), Musculoskeletal Medicine and Joint Injections. He posts regular health and wellbeing videos on YouTube as “Doctor Doodle Dad”.
He lives in Haddington with his family and has found East Lothian to be far drier than his West Coast upbringing. He pretends to be a Triathlete and has completed many endurance events including marathons, ultramarathons and long distance triathlons (half and full distance Ironmans). What little spare time he has is spent doodling for mindfulness, reading, writing poetry and filming YouTube videos. He’s currently trying to learn Danish!
