Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

This will help us to be more efficient by making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

If you would like to have a chaperone present during your examination, we can arrange this for you. See our chaperone policy for further details

All appointments are 10 minutes in length.

It will not be possible to deal with multiple problems in the available time.

Urgent appointments for today

If you feel that your problem is urgent, you should tell the receptionist and every effort will be made for you to be seen the same day.

If the doctor needs to see you in person or you would prefer a face-to-face appointment, we will invite you to come in.

Patients are free to consult any available doctor. However, if you wish to see a particular doctor you may need to wait a little longer for an appointment.

GP appointments are 15 minutes from one patient to the next. This includes background reading before you enter and documenting the consultation afterwards. If you have multiple problems to discuss, we may not be able to deal with all of these safely in a single appointment. Please consider if a double appointment is needed. The clinician may suggest you return for a separate appointment for non-urgent matters so there is appropriate time available to you.

Ways to book

1. Telephone: 01875 810736

Extended Access

We also have extended access available. See our Out of Hours information.

How to book

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Visit our Sickness Certificates page

Home Visits

Please be aware that our GPs will always call to assess the home visit request first.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10am.

Telephone: 01875 810736

Home visits are for patients who are too ill or frail to attend the surgery. Please try to telephone before 10am if you require a visit the same day. It is not always possible for any one particular doctor to make the visit.

Please remember that house calls are time-consuming and that doctors will usually be able to provide a more comprehensive service at a surgery consultation.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.

GP Video Link

Important

Video consultations are only available by prior arrangement with the GP.

Please do not try and contact us by this video link unless you have arranged the call with a GP in advance.

If you are discussing an issue with a GP, they may ask you to connect to them via a video link. In this situation please do the following:

  • If you are on your smartphone, tablet or computer (provided it has a camera), visit the NHS Attend Anywhere website
  • On the next screen, click on the “Start video call” button
  • On the next screen, enter your personal details (name, date of birth, phone number) and tick the “I accept” box and click on “Continue”
  • On the next screen, click on the “Start Call” button
  • You will then be transferred through to the GP, who will be able to accept your call and then you can communicate by video link.

It may take a minute or two for the GP to accept your call.

Out of Hours

Enhanced Access

We offer appointments for patients who are working and unable to attend during normal working hours.

Our Practice Nurse runs an early morning clinic every Tuesday and Friday and the GPs also hold either an early morning or late evening clinic every few weeks (please ask the Reception Team for more details of exact dates and timings).
