Dr McKinlay grew up in England. She moved to Edinburgh to study medicine, qualifying in 2014. She then spent time working in various hospital specialties in Edinburgh, before spending some time working in New Zealand.

She returned to Edinburgh to complete her GP training. Her medical interests include women’s health, menopause, and children’s health. She started working at the practice in 2021. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, hill walking and singing.
